They are a classic detective double-act. John Thaw is the mature, serious and irritable DI Jack Regan, while his partner, DS George Carter (Dennis Waterman ), is the sharp, South London Cockney who does not always agree with his "guvnor's" tactics. Members of Scotland Yard's elite Flying Squad, they are called upon to raid villains' homes, often when there are semi-clad ladies involved and they frequently use firearms and illegal methods to get an arrest.
