In 19th-century Australia, exotic beauty Jila (Alice Haines ) is born between the worlds of her Afghan father and Aborigine mother. When her mother dies, her father takes her and raises her as a Muslim. In time, Jila falls in love with a Christian (Aden Young - The Starter Wife ), but is unable to follow her heart as she is controlled by her father and a strict Muslim lifestyle. In a world where cultures clash and faith defines self-worth, Jila bravely tries to escape her male-dominated society to find a place where she can be herself, a place where true love is possible.
